Intellectual and educational assessment
An assessment of your child’s gifted potential is crucial for understanding your child’s strengths and weaknesses and the direction of her or his educational future. After completing an intellectual, educational and social emotional assessment we will recommend services for your daughter or son.
Parenting strategies and parenting groups
Parents of gifted children are most effective when they have the support of other mothers and fathers who are dealing with the quirks of their own gifted sons and daughters. Our parenting groups work for you. They provide insight as well as hands-on strategies for dealing with teachers, school administrators and other family members.
Individual parent coaching is also available to help parents make private decisions about schooling or other needs.
Tutoring
When gifted children need help, we offer support in all subject areas to deal with their difficulties and frustrations. Our behavioral based strategies work. Your son or daughter will look forward to the extra help they get from our tutors. They will learn “how to learn” and to enjoy school work. The dread of homework will be much less of an issue.
Time management and organizational skills
Gifted children often have problems organizing their work, staying focused, and completing their work. We support and teach your child to manage her or his time working on homework and long range projects. Our mentors are skilled in the behavioral methods that reduce anxiety and increase focus and concentration.
Enrichment and socialization experiences through book and math clubs
Finding meaningful friendship is an essential part of the the gifted child’s development. Often gifted children find long-lasting friends through their special interests. Our book club and math club enrich your child’s life while introducing them to children of like minds.
Mentoring and acceleration services
Gifted children often show great interest and accelerated development in certain subjects. They become bored and underperform in classrooms where the pace and depth of the material is below what is ideal for them. Mentoring and accelerated development endeavors to address this problem by exciting the gifted child’s natural interest and skill and taking him, at his own pace, as far as he is willing to go, up to and including college level work.
This service can be provided with or without the support of the school.
School placement
The right school whether public or private can make a world of difference in your child’s educational experience. We can help you find the best school at a price you can live with.
